There are 20 categories with over 230 high-quality pictures (supporting retina display) with matching voice prompts to facilitate selection.

This app does not require an internet connection, allowing children to play anytime, anywhere.

Research indicates that children learn to categorize objects in their environment to expand their knowledge and comprehend their experiences (Gelman, 1999). Categorization skills play a crucial role in children's rapid acquisition of conceptual and linguistic knowledge (Waxman & Kosowski, 1990).

ToonWare Categories for Speech and Language Therapy app has been created by a certified Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist to aid children aged 3 to 7 years in enhancing their communication skills. The app focuses on six vital areas for literacy development: categorization of everyday objects/animals, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and expression. With three levels of difficulty, the Categories app offers both challenge and enjoyment. Children must grasp the relationship between displayed pictures and determine their corresponding categories throughout the levels.

• Level One (Easy): Identify the category of a single item among five choices.
• Level Two (Medium): Recognize the relationship between three objects and assign them to their category.
• Level Three (Hard): Determine the pictures that belong to a specified category.

Parents, speech language pathologists, special educators, and preschool teachers can benefit from the Category app.

ToonWare Categories for Speech and Language Therapy app is compatible with iPhone™ 4, 4S, and 5, iPad™, iPad Mini™, and iPod Touch™. It is also accessible in Turkish as "Kategoriler," with Spanish and Mandarin versions currently in development.
